2. 1990: Qualifies in medicine at the University of Nottingham – Nottingham, England, He qualified as a doctor at the University of Nottingham, then trained in general practice in Oxford.
3. 1996: Completes an MA in creative writing at UEA – Norwich, England, He completed the MA in creative writing at the University of East Anglia.
4. 1997: Eclipse of the Sun – Novel
5. 1998: Eclipse of the Sun – Awards, Betty Trask Prize and Awards
6. 2024: Awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners – The Royal College of General Practitioners made him a Fellow in recognition of his writing about the role of the GP.
