Anna Goodall

Anna Goodall is a British children's author, born in London into a family of musicians. Before turning to fiction she worked in publishing and bookselling, ran a small literary magazine and wrote occasional journalism. In her thirties she took a master's in scriptwriting at Goldsmiths, but chose to write a novel rather than a film. The manuscript reached Bella Pearson, then setting up Guppy Books, which published Maggie Blue and the Dark World in 2021; it was shortlisted for the Costa Children's Book Award. Two sequels, Maggie Blue and the White Crow and Maggie Blue and the Lost Child, complete the trilogy. She lives in London with her family.
