Tom Watson

1982–

Tom Watson is a British novelist, born in London in 1982. He is a graduate of the Creative Writing MA at the University of East Anglia, where he received the Curtis Brown Prize in memory of Giles Gordon. His debut novel, Metronome, was published by Bloomsbury in 2022: a near-future story of a couple exiled to a remote northern island, shaped by climate change and by state control over who may have children. It was shortlisted for the Clarke Award in 2023 and chosen as a BBC Two Between the Covers book club pick. He lives in London, and is not to be confused with the British politician of the same name.
